A BBC készített egy összeállítást a 21. század legjobb filmjeiről. A toplista úgy állt össze, hogy 177 kritikust kérdeztek meg, méghozzá 36 országból, hogy szerintük melyek a legjobb, 2000 után készült alkotások. Néhány helyezésért holtverseny alakult ki, azok dupla számoknak számítanak. A magyarok nagy örömére egy hazai, Oscar-díjat nyert produkció is helyet foglal a legjobbak között.
